Claude Personal Finance is rolling out in beta to personal Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers in the United States. Anthropic introduced the feature on November 5. Plaid connects the bank and card accounts you choose, giving Claude read access to answer questions about balances, transactions and spending. Anthropic announcement.

Bank authentication happens through Plaid. The permission covers information such as balances, credit limits, partial account identifiers and up to two years of transactions. The integration supports read-only queries. Payments, transfers and investments are outside its scope. Claude Personal Finance guide.

The benefit becomes clearer when a question spans several statements. You could ask for monthly spending in a category, then request the transactions behind the total. That follow-up can help you spot, for instance, whether a purchase was counted twice because a card payment was included. It also lets you reconcile an answer with the statements when the number will inform a decision.

Unlinking a bank and clearing your history are separate steps

Anthropic says it excludes conversations within the Personal Finance hub from model training. Account privacy settings apply to information shared elsewhere in Claude. Unlinking a bank stops Claude from making new reads through that connection. Information already included in chats, artifacts or shared links remains until you remove that content. The beta supports US banks. For readers following the feature from Brazil, any expansion raises a practical question about how much control people will have over account access and history. For a spending summary, one of the most revealing questions may be the simplest: which transactions make up that total?
